Achievement over success

'Achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others, and that's nice, too, but ...not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success.' - per Ashree's mum. (Ashree is my class rep).

This post at his Facebook certainly invoked me.
I will strongly uphold this principle of achievement over success now.
In fact I have already slowly upholding this principle prior to this post.

so what if I have a small eyes that you can only see a line when I laugh? as long as you can catch some hapiness in it. ^.^

As long as I am happy.
As long as I think I did the best.
As long as I think I have fulfilled my obligations to people that care especially family.
Why not?

Yes, goodbye.

Pulau Ketam @ Klang

It will be a long post.
18/09/09. Great outing to Pulau Ketam, I never know that there is such an island near KL that you can go just for a day. It was a great trip with coursemates! At Port Klang. There were 8 of us, Grandpa Louis, Chong Leng, Peng Ying, Shee Cheng, Shin Yi, Cheah Ying, Yee Mun and me. KTM is very retarded. Grrrr...We departed at 9.15am from UM and reached there around 12.45pm.

Upon reaching Port Klang by KTM, we walked for 7 minutes to the jetty.

while waiting for boat. We met some super duper friendly peers who were going to Pulau Ketam too. It was drizzling when we reached the jetty.

The 8 of us!

The gals. in the boat. RM 7 per trip. Kinda expensive. There is a trip every one hour at the 45th min of each hour until 5.45pm. No worries if u miss the boat, there are hotel and inn there.

It took us around 45 minutes to reach Pulau Ketam. It is a perkampungan nelayan. A very very serene and peaceful escapade from the busy city. An ideal place for retirement. But the sea water is seriously polluted, residents there live just above the sea.
There are mini police station ( which Louis expressed intention to do his attachment there) , voluntary fire station, clinic, temple, mosque, hotel and inn. Pulau Ketam is a majority Chinese populated place. In fact, I din even meet a single other race resident there.
The only mean of transport in Tam Tam island is bicycle. Serious, not even motor. and the road there is far too small for car. Every road is about the size in the picture. Act 333 has prohibited any motor vehicles in it. Thus, the air there obviously cleaner than the town.

Crabby!!! The reason why we were there..Seafood.

H1N1 spreading rapidly. Precaution must be taken. Peng Ying brought this anti-bacteria hand sanitiser along for us... Haha..

Ketua @ Cheah Ying serving rice for us. She is reali a nice person.

Crab. Very lazy eat de lo. anyway, ketua helped me to crack the shell. Hehe..

Fish balls soup.

Fried sotong.

Fried prawn. Thumb up!

Mantis shrimp. Double thumb up!! I'm loving it! Sorry, I am not the one taking this photo.

Lala, my favourite. Ok, there are still fish, vege, fruits and chinese tea. Each of us paid RM27 for the lunch. Reasonably priced I think.

The crab crab gesture. After lunch, we walked around this small perkampungan in less than one hour.

The local products.

Almost the same at Muar I think

The picture of the day!

Wow, this picture looks very 80's or 70's

We rented 3 bicycles because some of us wanted to walk. RM4 per day per bicycle.

So sweet!! Chong Leng and Peng Ying. Haha..

Cheah Ying chosen not a very suitable bicycle for her and she met with an minor accident with another uncle with bicycle.
The return journey. 3.45pm.

It was raining when we reached UM like around 730pm. Gosh, I really hate rainy day! I really hate KTM!! Wasting other people time.

PS : Happy Holiday! well, not a so holiday for me though. Going back to Muar tomorrow and going JB in the evening.

Yes, goodbye.

Majlis Buka Puasa

As mentioned in earlier post, I went to this majlis organised by Tanjong plc as volunteer.
It was at The Spastic Children Centre, Bangunan Sultan Salahudin Abdul Aziz Shah which is beside Crown Hotel, PJ. not more than 10 minutes away from UM.
Thanks Lay Kei's mum for fetching us there and the Tanjong staff who fetched us back to UM.
and we witnessed how Melvin crossed the road like a chicken ( according to Lay Kei, not me ).

Duit raya giving ceremony towards the end of the buka puasa dinner.
It was attended by around 15 OKU centres around KL, their representatives and also some disabled children of the centre.
Volunteers were the tuan rumah of each table.
I randomly picked a table, sitting together with those from the centre of Gombak.
The uncle from the centre told me a lot of thingy like how the centre operates and how the children are like and so and so and so.
Childrens who were there tonight. Some of them are so cute! yeah, but some ignored me when I approached them. You know why.

This is one of the children sitting in the same table as me, Puteri. Apparently during the end of the event, she merajuk, and Chin Teck ( one of senior scholars ) trying to persuade her to stand up and walk but to no avail. I think she was playing with us because some of us caught her smilling. haha.

Every children was entitled to one bag as souvenir. Volunteers were giving out those bags.

Of course after working for the night, we deserve some rewards too. Volunteers @ staff of Tanjong @ Tanjong scholars were Q-ing up to get souvenir.

It was none other than, yoohoo, the bag that those children got just now. Wahahahahahahahha.
Actually, those staffs were just fooling around la, they dont really wan to get the bag and Q-up for the sake of fun I think. hahaha

There was just 7 of us who went tonight for the event including Chin Teck who was not in the picture. Melvin, Sook Lin, Lay Kei, Cheng Ying, Sin Ying. Wow, miss u guys! hehe..
Self-reflection time : Wearing baju kurung is definitely cool ( theres many Malays who said that Chinese wearing baju Melayu is sweet ). Oh no, this is not the kind of reflection I mean. just that, treasure for what you have and who you are. Applying this principle, I should stop lamenting about how hard is family law or criminal law. Nah, that principle is only obiter dicta, not ratio decidendi. No need to be followed, just highly persuasive. I can still complain as much as I wan, curse as much as I wan. haha. (I curse a lot nowadays, so rude me)
The underlying principle is, reach out your hand and help ppl in need.

Yes, goodbye.

Oh, is weekend again

Well, weekend in my own context starts from 1pm of Thursday and ends at noon of Sunday.
Went to a drive around Mont Kiara and Solaris yesterday nite.

Sometimes I love law and sometimes I hate it absolutely.
I love it when I understand at just the first or second reading.
I hate it when I totally cannot get a clear picture of everything.
Haha..

Studying for family law test scheduled on next Tuesday.
Wish me luck and to my coursemates as well.

Am going to the staff-in-the community programme of Tanjong plc later. Its a Majlis Buka Puasa.

Nica day people!

Yes, goodbye.

One of the best parts in uni life

No, No, is not the food that made me gained weight!!!

But these 5 young ladies and 'one chap'. ok, 6 ladies la. keke. My sisters at uni @ coursemates.
Jia Xin, Yuet Mei, Zhan, Candy, Jia Feng and Siew Siah.
We were from the same residential college during first year, we met each other day and night until I feel to vomit. Haha, joking joking.

They never failed to make me laugh, lend me a helping hand when I need it, cheer me up when I am down and give me 'valuable advices'.
Yes, although that lao zha bor is giving us a tough time, I believe we can overcome it together!!!!

A toast to our friendships and to studies and to love!

Well, tat was the last part of my birthday celebration with them at Shogun, 1 Utama. It was a treat from them. The food was sucks, except the drinks.

After the lunch, we went to shop and followed by movie, Final Destination. OMG! This movie is a total sucks and gross. Sickening. I closed my eyes and yelled most of the time. I think the guy sitting beside me was pissed off. haha.

We had gals'talk in my room that night until 4am. Gossips, hearts matters, secrets....Apparently some of them got tipsy and I was kicked out from my own room and tumpang at Candy's room. I went back home the next morning. I think I had only slept like 3 hrs that day? Plus, the previous night I also slept at 3am and woke up at 7am.

I really enjoy the accompany of you gals, who add spice to my life. Love you people! Muacks..

Yes, goodbye.

I think I should change my PM

Because so many people msged me asking why I am down.
Why? Today I set the bomb timer ticking in family law tutorial. BOMB!!!!! alrite, it made me feel stupid and pressure ok? After the bom exploded, it followed by M16.
Ok ok, is just metaphor.
Brain working very slow.
W-H-Y am I letting myself to step into all these?

WAhahahahahahhaha, here you go, something worth the smiles and laughter.

1. home, Muar - celebrated with the family August babies, there's 4 of us ( mum, youngest sis, godbro, jinghansoh )
Pandan cake, too sweet but for me. a little will be fine.

Little piggy who was more excited than us.

Aunties and cousins were there too that night. We had steamboat.

You know why there must be magic candles?

Making wish session.

2. Little Scorpy, Muar - they said there's no cafe Little Scorpy, I named it. haha.
Bestie, who was so reluctant to take photo with me. so P. how P.
She attempted to give surprise like last year, the clever me of cos can see it coming.. Haha..

Nobody asked me what wishes that I made.

I love this picture a lot. Credit to myself, not the photographer. Chocolate cheese it was. Do not ever ever ask for more than one candle from this year onwards.
Oh ya, thanks to wee san who helped in organising the night outing.
4. Blessings from friends, inter alia..
a lot of nagging inside. oopsss.. From 7 sisters with dress, necklace and ear ring. I just cant stop laughing when I saw this card. duno why. haha.. ok, maybe because those pictures are funny. Theres more interesting at the back of the card, but is confidential. keke.
From Diana. A watch which undergone a long way.

From the bomb maker, Ignatius. Not tat I wan to complain, u see the card is so spacious, he just wrote a Happy Birthday. oh, and my name.
Layers of layers, theres more to go in unwrapping the present. And finally, there are panda biscuits and perfume, Daisy. Yes, we all know panda biscuit dont go with perfume. There's a story behind it.
Sorry, accidentally taken off the photo of the pressie.
4. Johor Bahru with aunties, uncles and granny - a small home party for cousins Joyce ( 31/08 ) and Dino ( 01/09 ) and me ( 30/08 )
With my beloved fifth aunt.
Joyce.
Beauty and the beast. Wakakakakakak..

At the end of the night..
I shopped during 30/08 and went out with Nana to countdown Merdeka. Ya, 'countdown'. Appreciated ur intention.
Once again, thanks everyone. Muackss..
My growth path will become meaningless and mundane without every of you, you, you, you, you, you, you...........................and you.
